Dubai has rolled out a special New Year’s initiative by reserving six popular public beaches exclusively for families.

The decision, announced by Dubai Municipality, applies on Tuesday, 31 December 2024, and Wednesday, 1 January 2025, ensuring a safe and enjoyable celebration for residents and visitors alike.

Family-only beaches for New Year

The designated family-only beaches include Umm Suqeim Beach 1, Umm Suqeim Beach 2, Al Mamzar Corniche Beach, Jumeirah Beach 2, Jumeirah Beach 3, and Sunrise Beach.

This move aligns with Dubai’s commitment to creating inclusive recreational spaces while prioritising safety and comfort during peak holiday periods.

135 safety experts on duty

To safeguard the celebratory spirit, Dubai Municipality has stationed 135 safety and rescue personnel, equipped with cutting-edge technology, across the reserved beaches. In addition, a 60-member supervisory team will oversee operations, ensuring smooth management throughout the two-day holiday.

The announcement follows a similar initiative during the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations in November, when four beaches were designated family-only zones from 30 November to 3 December. Popular spots like Jumeirah Beach 2 and Umm Suqeim Beach 1 were transformed into serene holiday destinations for families.
